Dear fellow dancers and instructors,

La Troupe Folklorique Grecque Syrtaki invites you to attend its North American Dance Conference 2003. All the excitement will be taking place in Montreal from October 10-13 2003 at the Ruby Foo’s Hotel, situated minutes from downtown Montreal.

This year, we have the pleasure of welcoming back the renowned instructor and researcher Yiannis Kostantinou from Florina, Macedonia, who will be concentrating on dances from Aridea, Episkopi, Alexandria and Goumenissa. For the first time teaching in Montreal, Vagelis Dimoudis, another well-known researcher, instructor and musician, will be presenting dances from Eastern & Western Thrace as well as the “Mavrothalassitika” from Northern Thrace. Also, Michalis and Elena Lanitis, both professors and graduates of (TEFAL) Gymnastiki Akadimia in Athens, will be coming from Cyprus to teach Cypriot dances. Last but not least, one of our local and most credible instructors, Dimitrios Tzotzis will be joining our team of instructors with dances from Asia Minor and Cappadokia.

“Tribute to our Greek Heritage” will showcase performances from our local and guest dance groups and the weekend will be highlighted with an unforgettable evening at our favorite Greek Tavern “Mythos”.

As you can see, we have planned a wonderful cultural weekend for you, so come celebrate our Greek heritage and share with us our most unique traditions. After all…. we have one thing in common, our Greek culture that we all so passionately perpetuate throughout our world!
